Lake Orta is located in Piedmont, west of Lake Maggiore. It is 120 km from Pavia, 70 km from Milan and 135 km from Turin. Although it is smaller and lesser known, many recognize the instagrammability Orta lake. It is a place that deserves, and that has nothing to envy to its fellow men. Indeed, a trip on Lake Orta can be a valid alternative to the sea during the weekend as there are plenty of equipped beaches where you can sunbathe and cool off on hot summer days. But let’s see what are the main equipped beaches of Lake Orta.
LIDO DI GOZZANO
If you come from Gozzano along the Strada Statale 229, the first beach on site that deserves to be experienced is the Lido di Gozzano. It is the largest beach on the lake. Inevitable primary toilets such as toilets, showers, rental of umbrellas, sunbeds and bars. At the Lido di Gozzano there is also the highest lake trampoline in Europe. Know that entry is really cheap.
MIAMI BEACH (ORTA SAN GIULIO)
Going instead beyond the Lido di Gozzano is the Miami Beach. The lake here is lived in a much quieter way. And in fact, the waters of the lake do not immediately become deep and it is possible to swim in shallow waters. The beach offers various services, including restaurant, bar, rental of umbrellas and sunbeds. Again, entering does not cost much.
LIGHTS ON THE LAKE
A few hundred meters from the village of Orta San Giulio there is the beach ‘The lights on the lake’. Reachable from the town of Orta on foot with a walk along the lake shore. It is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, pedal boats and kayaks and is assisted by a beach guard. A comfortable bar serves drinks, cold dishes and ice cream. Access to the lake is via comfortable stone steps.
DOLPHIN’S BAR
If instead you want to experience the lake from Pettenasco, here is a small area equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds at the Dolphins Bar. The beach is among the best on the lake. The restaurant also offers excellent quality first courses, main courses, sandwiches and salads.
SPORT CENTER BAGNELLA
If we move to the northern part of the lake in Omegna, finally you will have the opportunity to experience the wonders of Lido Bagnella. The beautiful local beach is part of the Bagnella Sports Center and is a stretch of lawn shaded by beautiful trees on the lake shore. It offers many services, from renting sunbeds and umbrellas at moderate prices.
