Watermelon Seed Spitting Week (26-29): This isn’t a whole week either. If you are not going to make it an entire week, please don’t call it per week. Anyway, this was a fun thing to do when I was a child. Our parents instructed us that if we swallowed a watermelon seed, one would start to develop in our stomach, so we were at all times cautious to spit them out.

This day is a nationwide vacation celebrated to salute to the exemplary bravery of St. George, a Roman Soldier, who killed a dragon and saved the princess. The legend says he was a man of nice braveness, ethics, and ideas. His deeds for the humankind had made him the patron saint of England. A parade with the St. George Cross flag is conducted, followed by the events.

Mardi Gras (or Carnival Season”) permits for celebrations from the end of Epiphany until the tip of Fat Tuesday, which marks the Christian Lenten season that begins on Ash Wednesday. Theoretically, Mardi Gras is a religious commemoration – not a nationwide holiday – however folks enjoy the season for its frivolity. The largest U.S. parties and parades are in New Orleans, Louisiana but different areas have them too. The calendar dates for Mardi Gras range in February and March.

International Clothesline Week (7-14): Are they speaking in regards to the factor you dry your clothes on, or the painful wrestling move? Either approach, it does not actually matter. I love the scent of garments dried out on the line, in the summertime solar. Save energy this week, by hanging your clothes out on the line. Don’t go round clotheslining folks. I promise you, they will not prefer it.
